“No, not worried about him. He does look kinda funny to be honest. I’m glad he can’t scream and shout. The neighbors might hear and call the police. However, I am worried that he might tell someone about us. It could cause a lot of trouble in the future for you guys.”

Koop caught Maggie’s wince as she finished her sentence. “You’re hurt.”

“I’m okay, it’s only a bruise.” She cupped her arm. “When he shoved the door open it caught my arm.”

Guilt filled Koop. His mate had been hurt; a fact he’d briefly forgotten. Taking her arm carefully, he rolled up the sleeve of the robe to reveal a long, purple bruise on the side of her arm.

“Hold still,” he said and rushed toward the back door again.

Rifling through the habitums, Koop found a small healing wand. Picking it up, he ran back to his mate and ran it over her skin. To his relief, the bruise gradually disappeared.

“Wiggle your fingers,” he ordered and observed Maggie as she did as he had asked. “Any more pain?” he asked as he ran the wand over her neck, watching as the bruises disappeared.

“No,” Maggie answered with a sigh.

Koop placed the small wand on the floor at his feet and tugged Maggie into his arms. He berated himself for not healing her sooner.

“I’m sorry you were injured, me unum. I should have been more observant.”

Maggie placed a hand on his naked chest. “You can’t protect me twenty-four seven, Koop.”

  “I can certainly try.”

Maggie lay her head against his chest and held still for a few moments. He felt when she tensed and knew it was time to address the subject of what to do with the human male.

“What if we were just to let him go?” she asked.

Koop frowned. “But he will inform others of us? Of you?”

Maggie shrugged and turned her gaze yet again onto Todd. “Who is going to believe him?”

“You have a mischievous smile there, my Maggie. One your sister had. Do I have to worry that you think very much like your sister? If so, I can already see Nim and I are in for some fun times.”

“I learned from the best,” Maggie replied, her smile growing bigger. “Well, for starters. Todd here is a dick.”

Koop growled. What was it with his spark and cocks?

Maggie chuckled. “Perhaps I do need that spanking,” she said, running her pink, wet tongue over her bottom lip.

Koop swooped down and kissed her mouth, nipping on her bottom lip as he pulled away. Again, Maggie’s cheeks turned a lovely pink.

Clearing her throat, she continued. “From what he said earlier, Todd is being hauled in by the police to be questioned about my disappearance, so that will help. Now that May will disappear too, it will make things even better.”

At this Todd started to shuffle around in the chair, but being restrained with Gracian technology, Koop knew the male couldn’t do very much. The cuffs he had placed on Todd didn’t just hold his arms behind his back, they paralyzed the vocal cords too. And if the prisoner struggled too much, the cuffs released a small amount of a paralyze venom through several tiny pins that would eject if the cuffs were pulled about too much.

“Also,” Maggie continued, “if he was found here in the house, it would only add to the police thinking he might be guilty.”

“But that would not stop him from spouting off about you or I.” Koop frowned. “He would be free to tell your security about us.”

Maggie shrugged. “No one would believe him, and if they did, what proof is there you or I were here? My fingerprints are all over the place because I lived here, and we can wipe down anything you touched to—”

“We Gracians don’t have fingerprints,” Koop interrupted his mate. He had read about humans’ fingerprints before meeting Maggie. Each human had a unique print on their fingers that could identify them, just as the Gracians could with their energy.

“Really? I never noticed.” Maggie took his hand and ran the tips of her fingers over his, examining them closely. Each tip of his finger was smooth. “I never knew.” Maggie sighed then smiled. “Well, that just makes things a lot easier.” She chuckled. Turning toward Todd, she smiled at the male. “You are so screwed.” She laughed.

“Koop.” Trian’s voice came over his comm.

Koop pressed the button on his comm, a thin band on his wrist that he was never without, although at this moment, it was the only thing he was wearing. “Koop here,” he replied.

“Nim has returned. I am sure Maggie wishes to know that after seeing Hover and confirming that May’s iungo is growing, the couple are now in seclusion until their mating heat is over.”

Koop felt his spark relax beside him.

“Jikel will be taking his place. He should be with you in no more than ten human minutes.”

“Thank you, sir. We have, though, encountered a problem in the shape of a human male.”

  “Who?” Trian demanded.

“Maggie’s ex-mate, Todd. But Maggie has come up with a plan to take care of it.”

  “Will it affect us?”

Koop looked lovingly at his mate. “I don’t think so, sir.”

“Good. I wish for a report as soon as possible. As for the island, our pods have landed and security is being placed as we speak. Amelia has convinced a few of the human women supporters to help our men on the land. Two of our mated couples will also be helping out.”

“What if the females try to leave or even contact their families?” Koop asked, worried that they’d come this far and everything could be ruined in a single moment if one of the females couldn’t be completely trusted.

“Amelia and I have spoken extensively to the three single females who wish to help. Only one of them actually has a family, but she wants to remain missing or dead to them. As for the mated pairs, again I don’t see any problems. I have approved them myself, and I don’t believe any one of them will want to put our people at risk. But in case my judgement is wrong, they will be watched carefully. Also, the only technolodgy that will be allowed on the island will be the proximity alarms and a few other bits that will be needed, but they will be kept in the mountain ranges.”

  “What about the pods?”

“They will be locked and kept shielded.”

Koop trusted his captain with his life, and he trusted his judgement. Koop was pleased that things were moving ahead. His people needed this. They had lost so many warriors over the yarns. “I’m glad to hear this, sir. As soon as Jikel arrives with the pod, Maggie and I will be returning to the island.”

“Good. You will meet the women and the first batch of warriors.”

  “Yes, sir.”

“Be sure to start the plans for the ship as quickly as you can. I want to get that started as soon as possible.”

  “Yes, sir.”

  “Trian out.”

Koop stared at Todd, knowing full well the human male had heard the whole conversation. There was no way to erase everything he had seen or heard, which only added to Koop’s worry. But Maggie was sure that his story wouldn’t be believed.

“Are you certain no one will believe him?” Koop asked Maggie.

“If anything, they will think he has lost his mind and put him down as being a raving lunatic. Revenge could not be sweeter. All the years he cheated behind my back… All the time I put into helping him build up our business…” Maggie’s gaze remained on Todd, but Koop could see the pain and hurt on her face, as well as the tiny glint of tears in her eyes. “It all felt like it had been for nothing when I found him with his PA. And then to discover all the affairs he’d had, as well as the vasectomy...it hurt so badly. Now though?” Her bright green eyes peered up into his, and she smiled—one so bright it would have outshone the sun on his planet. “I’d say it’s karma.” She returned her gaze to Todd’s in silent contemplation. “Is there a way perhaps we could add alcohol to his system?” she suddenly asked.

  “Your coffee?”

  “No, silly.” She chuckled. “It
s a drink that makes us humans feel the same way coffee did to you. I thought you had read up on it after your own experience.”

He released a slow, low growl and shook his head. “Never again!” he muttered. “You are talking about fermented liquid?”

“Yes. If we can add it to his system and give him enough to make him pass out, we can dial the police, and then leave Todd lying on the floor with the phone beside him. It might make his memory a little fuzzy too, which will help our situation.”

Koop was confused as to how that would help with the problem of the human male telling security Maggie was alive, let alone telling them about him. He was about to ask what she meant, but before he could, she continued, answering his unasked question.

“If the police find him here, passed out and with a gun nearby, with both myself and May having disappeared, he will be arrested again. If starts raving about aliens with swirling eyes and pods and whatever else he heard, they will just think he’s nuts.”

Was it plausible the security on this planet would indeed be blind to the fact aliens had been there? That this Todd could be put down as a raving looney as his spark had said?

“Yes,” Maggie said as if again reading his mind. “They will think he has come up with some cock-and-bull story to cover May and I disappearing.”

Koop tutted. “ Nuts? Cock-and-bull story? Female, when we get somewhere private, I will be spanking that luscious, peachy butt of yours to remind you whose cock you should be thinking of.”

Maggie laughed aloud, her cheeks again blooming a deep pink. “It’s a saying.”

Koop wanted to show his mate cock and bull—or balls in his case. His own! But with the human in the house and them running out of time before Jikel arrived, there was no time to show his mate anything.

“Let us dress, me unum. Before I take you here in front of the male to show him how to treat a mate properly,” he whispered into Maggie’s ear.

Maggie’s sweet laugh filled his ears as she rushed from the room. He loved seeing her so happy.

  Chapter 10

Maggie glanced around the small living area and toward the kitchen of May’s house. She’d asked Koop for a moment alone before they left. He had been rather disgruntled at leaving her alone, but gave her the few moments that she’d asked for. He and Jikel were in the pod, waiting for her with a small bag of keepsakes for herself and May. She hadn’t taken a lot, because she didn’t want it to seem like May or she had packed up and run off somewhere.

Even though a tinge of sadness hit her as she looked around, it wasn’t as bad as she had felt aboard the Gemorph when she had wanted to return home. That had dissipated fast seeing Nim holding her sister and realizing that nothing in the house was important to her.

A final glance at Todd, lying on the floor with a empty whiskey bottle and gun within his reach, had Maggie smirking. Leaving the lying rat-bastard to take the blame didn’t have her feeling an ounce of guilt. He would lose everything and probably end up in some looney bin somewhere, hopefully with the mystery of she and May disappearing with him. Not only would Todd wake with a hangover, but in police custody as well.

Maggie had also put her creativeness to use. With the help of the pod’s computer, Maggie had generated a slightly muffled and unclear-sounding fight scene between May and Todd. When they were all ready to leave and Todd was passed out, Maggie simply played the recording into the phone after dialing 999. Evil? Hell yeah. He shouldn’t get more than ten years in a psychiatric hospital somewhere. It was no more than he was due.

Hearing police sirens, which were getting louder, Maggie turned and ran toward the pod, straight into Koop’s waiting and loving arms. Jikel closed the door with a press of a button and raised the pod into the air, close enough to watch the police enter the house.

“Take me away from here,” Maggie said, staring into Koop’s swirling eyes. “I’m done. This isn’t home anymore. Home is with you.”

She closed her eyes when Koop’s mouth covered hers. She felt the pod rise but interest in anything else flittered away. Only the feel of her mate’s lips against hers.

Koop’s voice lowered and turned husky when he whispered into her ear. “When we land on the isle, I intend to claim a room and enter a second seclusion with you, me unum.”

Maggie kissed him, their tongues instantly stroking against each other. Koop showed her the passion, devotion, and love he had for her in everything he did. No words were needed, she felt how much he loved her.

“I love you, Koop. Thank you for finding me.”

“I have waited so long for you. I never want to let you go.”

“Then don’t,” she replied, meaning every word. Koop was home. She knew he would give her everything Todd never had. The feeling deep in her heart now was something she had never experienced with her ex-husband.

The ride to Mermaid Island was short and sweet. Maggie relished every single second of it though. There were no bumps from the potholes in the roads, no swaying of a boat on the sea, and most of all, no heart-wrenching screams from a poor child not having fun. Maggie watched the fast passing scenery in the arms of her mate until Jikel lowered the pod and they came to a standstill at the back of the mansion.

“We will be indisposed for the rest of the day and most of tomorrow,” Koop said to Jikel.

Koop scooped Maggie up off his lap, causing her to yip at the sudden movement, and carried her at a swift pace across the mansion grounds and into the house.

“What’s the rush?” Maggie asked with a knowing smile at her mate.

She didn’t need to ask, but winding him up was fun. All the way back to the isle, sitting in his lap, she felt his need underneath her butt. She’d even wiggled once or twice while trying her hardest to keep a stoic look on her face, hearing his near silent groan and rumble.

Koop didn’t reply, he just walked a little bit faster up the huge, wide, white marble stairs. His tension was palpable. She could almost feel his energy bubble underneath his tanned skin. As he walked along the top hallway, white wooden doors blocked doorways into bedrooms.

Koop didn’t pick just any room; he was heading toward the master bedroom. The room was massive. The walls were painted white with gold patterned ceiling coving. It had a few pieces of furnishings that weren’t built into the room, like a huge dressing table and an ottoman that sat at the foot of the bed—both of them white. It had a king-sized, gold gilded, four-poster bed, along with floor-to-ceiling windows. Two patio doors opened up onto a round, arched balcony. When the doors were open, the long, white nets drifted inward with the breeze. It was almost like a set from a romance movie.

Reaching the master bedroom door, Koop pushed the gold handle down with his elbow and nudged the door open. No sooner was the door shut and locked, Koop lowered Maggie to her feet and pulled her shirt apart. She had time to hear small pings as buttons went flying and hitting surfaces before her breasts were also free from her bra, with both pieces of now useless material falling at her feet.

Koop’s mouth covered hers in a passionate, heated, and devouring kiss. One of his hands cupped her head, his fingers slipping into her hair and gripping it, keeping her head slightly cocked so he could deepen the kiss. His other hand slipped lower down her body, fumbling at the button on her jeans. So much had happened since she’d dressed this morning on the Gemorph.

Without breaking the kiss, Maggie reached for the button and zipper of her jeans, opened them, and pushed them down her legs until they pooled at her feet. Using her feet, her sandals and jeans joined her shirt and bra on the floor. With a tug, Koop had her panties ripped from her body, and one of his fingers slid over her swollen, damp folds, eliciting a moan of pleasure from her.

“Oh yes, so wet.” He groaned for a moment before kissing her heatedly again. “Undo my clasp,” he urged her, breaking then returning to their kiss.

Maggie’s head swam with the passion her mate was pouring into their joining. He seemed so frantic about needing to couple with her, she cou
ld only go with the flow. Scrabbling for the button on his jeans, Maggie pulled the material apart and pushed them down as far as she could.

His hard, heavy cock slapped against her bare skin. She didn’t have time to grasp it as she so badly wanted. To feel the velvet skin over the hard, iron rod. To stroke it and feel his passion leak from the large, mushroomed head.

Koop cupped her buttocks with his hands and lifted her up, his lips never leaving hers. She placed her hands on his muscled shoulders, holding on as he lowered her over his cock. She could feel his hardness at her heated center.

Air blasted from her lungs when he let go and she slid down onto his shaft. So full. So totally embedded on his cock. She groaned at the delicious feeling. Her body convulsed around the sudden intrusion, and her hands gripped his shoulders.

Koop didn’t give her time to adjust, he turned around and pressed her against one of the bedroom walls and began moving, hard and fast inside of her. His teeth nipped at the sensitive skin on her neck. His body rocked, his muscles bunched and released. Maggie relished every single movement, every single bounce her body made. She wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck, holding on tightly. Her tits rubbed against his chest, her hard, beady nipples adding to the sensation his cock was creating.

“Never again!” Koop grunted. “No male will ever lay a hand on you again.”

Maggie wanted to tell her mate that she was fine; she was more than okay. She’d only suffered a few bruises because he was there to rescue her. Hopefully, Todd would never be a problem again.

The sounds of sex, skin slapping against skin, grunts and moans filled the bedroom. Koop fucked into her harder, like a man possessed. She couldn’t speak, because the air in her lungs was being used to breathe rather than talk.

Koop cupped one of her breasts. He molded the plumpness, then tweaked her nipple between his finger and thumb. It sent an overload of sensations coursing through her body, all the way to her core. She threw her head back, hitting the wall behind her. She didn’t register the thump, only the feelings that Koop was dispatching throughout her. Maggie did, however, catch the sudden growl of displeasure and frown on Koop’s intense face. It was only when a possessive hand cupped the back of her head and pulled it away from the wall that she knew what had put that look on his face.
